QC11Y series hydraulic swing beam shears are designed and manufactured to provide excellent shearing of materials with clean and square edges, and to exacting tolerance.

The shearing process is carried out on a shearing machine, often called a power shear or a squaring shear, that can be operated manually (by hand or foot) or by pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric power. A typical shearing machine includes a table with support arms to hold the sheet, guides or stops to secure the sheet, a gauging device to precisely position the sheet, and upper and lower straight-edge blades. The sheet is placed between the upper and lower blade, which are then forced together against the sheet, cutting the material. For most metal plate shearing machine, the upper blade is forced downward while the lower blade remains stationary. The upper blade is usually angled so that the cut progresses from one end to the other, thus reducing the required force. Also, the upper blade is slightly offset from the lower blade, around 5-10% of the thickness of sheet. The blades used in these metal plate shearing machines usually have a square edge rather than a knife-edge, and are available in different materials, such as high-carbon steel and low alloy steel.

3. Before starting the metal plate shearing machine, lubricate it each time, and the lubricant should be free of foreign substances.
